Was there any particular reason behind you adding the Adonal? Xtol is the developer I have started with.

@onetree if you google Xtol & Rodinal you will find there is a lot of discussion and experimentation. Xtol alone is a low contrast developer, but gives exceptionally fine grain. Adonal/Rodinal brings a little more contrast, and depth to shadows and blacks, improving contrast.
