@3rdxoff You are so sweet, AC! Very glad you like the photo. It's time for me to face the fact that vacation is over. I think I am experiencing a little let down. Nothing in my world looks very photo worthy after all the beautiful and interesting sights of D.C. {sigh}
Instant Fav! And I'd tag this one with the weekly composition theme... (of course all of your photos could be tagged with that, but this one's is just so... geometric.)
I love the varying colors and values of all of the different repeated elements, and the spectacular way you've framed it such that the lines make you feel like you're falling up.
I am with Daryl @darylo Fabulous pov. FAV for sure. Although all of your shots are always wonderful, if you have others that you love from your trip--post them!!!
Very dynamic. There is a little bit of an illusion here too, almost like we could be looking down instead of up. I actually do feel a bit of vertigo here. I wonder how it would look if you plugged in the same tone of blue in all three sky openings?
@rvwalker Thank you, Ross. I always appreciate your insightful comments. I wish I knew how to change the tones of the sky. It would look interesting to see how that would change the image. I have yet to explore the world of editing very much. I know that you use PS Elements. Is this something that is possible with that software or would I have to go to PS for that?
@pflaume I use PS Elements, Lisa. This will get you started: Using a COPY of the original, select the eyedropper tool and click on the blue sky. Click on the paint bucket tool, place it over the area you want to change, then click. That will place the blue in large patches of that area. Click on a brush tool for more delicate retouching. You can always click Undo to back off errors. To learn more, there is a book available - Photoshop Elements, The Missing Manual. Good luck!
This image is remarkable; Love the lines and pov!
but very cool
