Baby Bud by pflaume

Baby Bud

First attempt at a macro shot of a water droplet. I have new respect for these kinds of photos. They are not easy to take! Most of mine were ever so slightly out of focus due to the occasional breeze and photographer shake. This was the best I got for now. Next time I will try with a tripod and hopefully still conditions.

By the way, in the droplet, you can actually see a little ant. It had walked over the top of the bud and was on the backside when I took the shot. It was funny to see it captured in the droplet later.
Beautiful macro. Amazing detail.

This is beautiful Lisa! I was missing your pictures already! Great capture and I love the raindrops especially the bigger one, love how you can see the grass and nice bokeh too

Pretty color, and I like the edge where the green meets the purple. I like your water drop.

Lovely first attempt Lisa, love colour and great reflection. I find I also get the best results with macro work to use a tripod. I have only tried a friend's macro lens once and was so happy with the results but I have extension tubes and they are rather difficult to work with.

love the water droplets

This is terrific. You have a very clear reflection in the water drop and that's hard to do.

Gorgeous - the thing I love about droplet photos is the way the reflection seems to encapsulate the world around it - including an ant in this case!

Excellent capture particularly without a tripod Lisa! :-) I'm itching to make a macro lens purchase as soon as I've saved up the pennies!

Caz
Wow, amazing that you can see the reflection of the ant !

Well done! I've only ever attempted this type of shot with my compact camera but I know that it's not easy to get the angle you need to show the reflection and that's even before you get started on the focusing!

Lee
Great macro shot, so good for a hand held one. Have you noticed there is actually a reflection of you? you're in the water at the end of the bud.

@gamelee Thank you, Lee! I did not notice that! I am still struggling to find myself. I was wearing a brown sun hat and think I see that shape, but it's hard to make out. You are very observant! Thank you also for commenting on so many of my photos today. Very nice of you to take the time to do that!
