Kath and Peter (Vintage Pentax SMC 55mm f1.8 lens)
This isn't a stranger photo, It's Kath and Peter who used to be members of our camera club, Arnold and District Camera Club.
Peter is the photographer and Kath used to come along to support him. They haven't been to the club since Covid.
Peter is 83 and they have been married over 60 years. Peter was very. proud when he got his congratulations card from the Queen.
I bumped into them yesterday in Arnold and we had a chat. I had my Sony A6000 and vintage Pentax lens, so I suggested I took a couple of photos of them.
As you can see the lens did a superb job. I think this was f4
I am really impressed by the effective portraits you take. I am very hesitant about taking portraits directly but I am inspired to think about it more by your photos.
@ankers70 Suzanne thank you so much , before I started taking strangers on the street , I took photos of my family and friends, they way I got to know the skills and camera settings required for good portraits
A lovely portrait & nice that you met after so long. I do think the photographer should get some credit though, the lens couldn’t do it without you. There’s a fb post ( you may have seen it) where someone says “your camera takes really good photos” to which the photographer replies “thanks I taught it everything it knows!” 😂
You are so skilled for portrait photography! You also are gifted in making your model(s) feel comfortable, we can see that in they natural expression. I hope you'll continue to share with us your portraits of strangers.
