I took a lunchtime walk by the canal near my office and grabbed a few pictures on my mobile phone.
The scene looks very tranquil, but behind me is a large factory.
The sun is shining from left to right across the image and it is a low winter sun, so there is a lot of difficult lighting conditions for the camera to cope with.
The picture is from my HTC desire mobile phone and the little camera has coped pretty well given the conditions.
More of a filler image, but I am happy to share it with you and as always I appreciate your comments
@seattle Constance thanks for your comment and support. It's amazing what these camera phones can do these days. They only have little lenses and glass, so cannot compare to a high end digital compact or DSLR, but given good lighting they can sometimes do a good job.
You have a great sense of composition, if you were able to create this picturesque scene without the factory intruding. Just looking at it makes me think of summer.
@allie912 Thanks Allison, as for composition, somebody once told me don't always shoot from eye level, so i knelt down ahd shot from quite low so I was at the same level as the boats. As for hiding the factory, well it was easy to do because as they say in the pantomine's (do you have pantomine's at theatres in the USA?) ..."it's behind you " !
@sarahhorsfall Canal Envy ..lol...well it's not that clean, and this is the most photogenic bit of it ..although there are some nice steps to photograph when you get to the canal from the main road !
