Looking Towards Dorket Head

Dorket Head is an area of Nottingham located between Arnold and Calverton.

Today we nipped to a local garden centre to look for some plant and herbs to fill a corner of our garden.

I've been meaning to photograph this scene for some time, so I pulled over on the drive to the garden centre a snapped a few images. this is shot from the road to Woodborough.

The lighting is not at it's best, but the image retains a little bit of calm and tranquility. It has been quite sunny today but the sky was a hazy rather than deep blue. The image is crying out for a deep blue sky, but you have to make the most of what you are presented with.

For the benefit of North American followers, the yellow field is 'rape seed oil'.

Hope you like this bit of rolling English countryside.
Love that color!

This is lovely. You're summing up the British countryside, with the different coloured hills and the line of trees on the horizon. I'd be interested to see the same view at different times of the year...

The contrast of the rape seed field & the ploughed is great ! The farm in the middle & line of trees on the horizon, stunning !
