No fancy post processing messing about with saturation and hue here (see yesterdays photo). This is SOOC and is a macro shot of the first Clematis bush to flower in our garden.
Our youngest daughter bought us some bushes at the end of last summer and they all look rather healthy and are starting to burst into life as we start getting towards the summer months.
It seems a little early for a Clematis to flower, but I googled 'purple Clematis' and found some that look remarkably like this that , flower in May
I have gone a little macro / flower crazy over the last few days, but then again flowers are great to photograph
Wow - I'm wanting a double one now. I've a dark maroon one doing well - maybe they appreciate the arid spring. Should have photographed mine - I keep walking past it but it hasn't thrown itself under my camera.
Sumptuous shot. I always think of my dad when I see clematis he grew some lovely ones. I got mobbed by whippets tonight, Dips (David - I have lots of daft names for all of them) got a press in and a big hug! Then he stole everyone's treats and piled them up in front of him. I had to redistribute them naughtly little tinker. They are all snoozing now. I have an interesting appointment tomorrow at the new Hampstead Heath parkrun I am the photographer and David Bedford will be there - very exciting! I do the photography at parkrun as a volunteer. http://www.parkrun.org.uk/hampstead-heath/home
@sparkle thanks Juliette, we planted quite a few in late summer last year, so we are looking forward to a nice display of colours throughout the summer
@whippeteer Thanks for your comments and glad you approve. I'm pleased you had a nice 'welcome home' :). I followed your link to the park run, it looks like a nice event and location to photograph. Have a nice day tomorrow, I am sure you will take some nice images :)
Oh SOOC ...straight out of camera, I only learnt the term while on here :)
@phil_howcroft Great I am not alone then!! parkruns are spreading I love them because they are all volunteer based and really inclusive and friendly we run with the whippets although the older ones are beginning to find it harder now. Baby joggers are permitted too so it is a right hotch potch of people do it which I love
Great focus, Phil and the colours are beautiful. We used to have one similar growing in our Laburnum tree. It was always a riot of colour at this time of year.
