The view from the No. 58 bus (revisited)

I posted a view from the front seat of the top deck of the number 58 bus back in April this year (see below)

I like to sit on the top deck on the front seat, because you get a great panoramic view through the front window !

This is another shot from the 58 bus, this time heading out of the city of Nottingham on the Mansfield Road in the Sherwood district of Nottingham.

Other than sharing a similar name this district is nowhere near Sherwood forest. If the bus continues about 20 miles up the road it will eventually get into the heart of Sherwood Forest !!

This was shot over a week ago, but I've only just decided to post it. I didn't know if it had enough interest (a grab shot from a bus !!!), but hey 365 isn't about always getting the best image, sometimes it is just posting what you saw on a given day.

The bus is stopped at some traffic lights and Sherwood town centre runs from just about here until you see the trees at the top of the hill. Once you get to the brow of the hill you start dropping down into Daybrook and then Arnold.

I really like taking pics from the front seat. I think some people on the bus must thinks awwwwww look at that man .....and feel sad for me !!!
Great black and white

Comparing the clouds of this shot to the April picture, this is really beautiful and dramatic. It really makes the town look inviting. I like the long view you have captured of the street and shops. I love the old-fashioned appeal of the B&W; perfect to create the mood of nostalgia.

A beautiful dramatic sky and scene...love the black & white. It looks like the guy on the cycle is leading the pack...great!

Such a classic ' Phil'' shot & so much to see !! I haven't been on the top of a bus for years !! Will have to start using my bus pass !!! I like the way the whiter clouds at the bottom show off the contrast of street better !

Nice B/W capture.

Loving the B & W and the motorbike. They only think 'Aww' when you start doing your pretend driving Phil!!

Love the contrast in this B&W. The white clouds and those chalky buildings seem to throw everything else into moody mode. Nicely done.

@swilde thank you very much Sue , I think it turned out OK as a B/W , but it may not have worked without those big fluffy clouds :)

@happypat Pat I like the 'classic Phil' shot ...I didn't know I had a style that was recognised...thank you so much :)

I recommend a ride on the 'top deck front seat' you can get some super images. I've only ever posted two on here but I have quite a few worthy shots :)

In fact you are spoiled as you can do top deck of a tram too :)

@patsyjphillips thanks Patsy, good spot about the guy on the bike ..he does look like he is leading a race :)

@allie912 thanks Allison, the district of Sherwood is quite old in it's architecture ...as you can probably tell by the 'ram shackle' unmatched building styles and structures...nothing modern catches the eye

i think its a great street shot again Phil. Lots of action in Toytown - it feels almost tilt-shift cos of the angle, and its the clouds what won it for me.
