There are always some shots I look for on holiday...the 112 SOS lifeguard station ...and a lifebuoy.
I shot this lifebuoy last year (we went to the same hotel in 2012 as we did in 2011 !!!!) ......it's been moved a few metres along the beach. The big pole is only pushed into the ground and is therefore moveable.
This image is carefully composed..........the lifebouy is on the thirds, textures in the sand, the shadows, crouched down POV to emphasise scale, the rope and poles holding the right hand side , movement in the sea and a few tiny fluffy clouds....oh and an almost letterbox shot !
I upped the saturation by 10% in photoshop elements to give the colours slightly more impact and oomph
Definitely much thought gone into this picture & I love the lovely splash of orange! I remember this beach from last year. Looks as lovely today as it did then!!!
The best part of your entries, Phil, is reading your explanations. And that is not to take anything away from your great compositions, but it makes me more aware of deliberate shot selections when I am ready to take a picture. Thanks for sharing. Also, I enjoyed comparing this year's buoy with last year's. So different, and yet each in its own way delightful.
