Looking across the bay from the Camí de Cavalls

I've almost finished posting my Menorcan holiday pics.

This is shot from the path that runs all around the Menorcan coast - the Camí de Cavalls

It is looking across the bay of Son Bou / Santa Tomos and if you follow the path / beach around the bay there's a little headland you can see.....that's where i photographed the 'sea horse' ...in fact the headland I'm stood on can be seen from the horse shot !

Anyway we walked along this path for quite some time until we could not go any further ....we seemed to lose the route of the path. There clouds look threatening and an hour later is was raining hard, but two hours later the clouds had blown away and it was a beautiful sunny afternoon.

I've used the wall in the foreground to help frame the shot and managed to capture the sweeping curves of the bay. Added a warming filter in photoshop elements, which seemed to help with the skies by emphasising the tones.

Beautiful

I have loved looking at all your shots from Spain. They are such wonderful sharp wide angle shots. Your photos make me want to travel to this area. Very nice Phil.

Your tweaking has resulted in a stunning shot, the colours of the sky and sea are gorgeous.

I bet you wish you were back here now & you won't be able to afford to go next year after the big wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a funny shot because you look at it and think 'glorious weather' and then you realise that you can actually see the rain falling. Stunning colours.

@judithg thanks judith, excellent spot about the rain. It was really weird you could see the rain sweeping across the bay even though you were dry.

@happypat ahhh pat good point about the wedding....we've been saving up for the wedding. so that's sorted....don't know what's going to happen with my job in 2013 though , my role is probably being 'off shored', i'm currently teaching my off shore colleagues how to do my job !!!

@tishpics thanks patricia, only a few clicks of the mouse were required to produce this shot.

@seattle thanks constance, menorca is part of the balearic islands , 3 islands in the med off the coast of spain, they are very popular with northern european holidaymakers (brits, germans, irish, dutch etc.) because of the ease of accessibility ...2 hours flight time....if you go outside of the tourist resort areas there are some stunning locations to photograph

@phil_howcroft Yes, I realised that there was only a little bit of tweaking.

This is incredibly beautiful Phil. I love the sweep of the curve and the care you've taken with the stones at the front of the shot. Must be a fav.

What a picturesque scene. I have never been on an island vacation ( had a day trip to Capri and another to Catalina, off the coast of Los Angeles) but this looks delightful, especially the peac and quiet.
