Today was the first day I was 'allowed' to take a camera to work !
On Tuesdays I'm now working in an office at Warwick University Science Park....still working for the same company, but I've been moved to a different office on Tuesdays
There is no R&D at this office which means I can take my camera to work.
This shot is my attempt at an 'abstract' . A shot of a building on the University Campus.
I cannot do 'abstract'. I get a bit of a 'block' when attempting to do one. Not knowing whether to go in close or wide and not knowing whether an abstract is interesting or not.
Anyway this is two windows on a curved building with some rather zany brickwork!
i have to say looks very forboding.......is this where you are working? I'd say its very lucky you have this gang of lovely people on 365 on your side!! Would be interested to see this shot in context..........:))
@fannyb thanks fanny, the office i work in isn't as good looking as this one !!!......This is part of the university.....we are on a 'science park of hi-tech offices' across the road...just a plain white box of a building !
It reminded me at first of one of those climbing walls. Shows great texture & strangely looks wider at the top than the bottom, that can't be right can it? A trick of the eye? Will look forward to some ''work'' shots on Tuesday evenings....sounds like you have had promotion!!!
@happypat ha ha Pat, I'm a freelance / contractor, so no promotions !! I work on two different projects so visit two different sites for the client / company i work for...it all sounds very glam, but we find our work through agents and essentially i'm just a 'hired hand' and team member !
I like it and would like to run my hands over it - but might look a bit odd trying to do this. I gave up trying to see if the patterns repeated, it does indeed look very like as if it's based on Braille! If so wonder what it says? Imagine the builders reactions to having to do this!! Very interesting shot Phil!
I like it - it's really interesting but I'm slightly depressed that it's in colour. @fueast says that Leeds has painted its concrete - maybe Warwick should try a splash of Dulux?
@fueast@judithg judith alison thanks for your comments . I think I can get a mini series of abstract shots from around the uni'...lots of modern architecture ...although some of it seems very dated ...1970's 'ish concrete etc.
@fueast Alison, my daughter went to Leeds Met (city campus), so I am familiar with the city ...although I always think the Leeds skyline looks pretty spectacular when viewed from the M621 / M1 !
Excellent choice, Phil. Love the reflecting rectangles of glass, the graceful curve of the structure and the "zany" bricks. So many interesting things to look at.
@caddick ha ha Mike , I'm not too sure students could climb this
@tishpics thanks PAtricia, i can 'see' how you thought it was braille
@sparkle juliette i think you will do a good job on abstract....i find it way too hard !
@anron thanks anita...it's a long way from home though to work !!!
