Three ducks at Arnot Hill Park, Arnold, Nottingham
Arnot Hill Park is affectionately known as the 'Duck Park' to the locals of Arnold !!
There's a big lake ...err with ducks on it ......so the 'Duck Park'.
After 'Sunday Dinner', we asked Ruby if she wanted to go to the 'duck park'.........cue frantic barking and running around the house looking for her collar, lead and coat (well the temperature struggled to rise above 0c today !!)
A slightly frozen lake, shot through the railings by the lakeside tea coffee and tea bar (closed btw !!!)
It was a 'one shot photo', because as soon as I stuck my camera through the railings, they came swimming and paddling over to me, thinking I was about to feed them !
Oh goodness Phil I am so behind, I have just this minute finished scrolling down commenting on everyone ....just done your yesterday ones! Love the ducks standing on the ice & the other has found a water hole, pity you couldn't have bought a warm drink in the cafe!!!
Yes lovely light. And clever Ruby going to find her stuff - when I say 'walk' to Monty he runs off with my shoe and shakes it into submission which rather slows us down. And the people of Arnold are nothing if not literal!
@judithg thanks judith, i think the white feathers on the duck on the left of the frame are a tad burnt out, but as a 'Sunday afternoon shot' it works :)
@happypat thanks Pat, we had a nice hot cup of tea when we got home, I had a couple of 'waitrose stem ginger cookies' (jane had gluten free digestive biscuits) !
Superb shot Phil, I can feel the cold. You have captured the ice and water really well - poor ducks! Great reflections of the standing ducks, nicely balanced with the swimming one in the centre. Brrrr!
@judithg Bertie does the shoe thing with me in exactly the same way, usually selecting the muddiest wellie and shaking mud everywhere much to my annoyance!
Dogs go bonkers when you mention the w word!! How funny, ours always greeted us when ee got home with any object she could find, one day a feather!! Gorgeous light in your shot and clever depicting ice and water!! Have a good week!
