My daughter gained her Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning today at Nottingham University.
She's a very qualified 'Howcroft'.
She gained her BA in Music, went on to do a Post Graduate in Education (to allow her to become a teacher). When she went to teach Music in a Secondary School , the Local Education Authority sponsored her to do a Masters Degree at Nottingham University
Achieving a Masters Degree, while working full time as a teacher is quite a commitment, but 3 years later she has passed :)
This is Kirsty and me, outside the entrance to the graduation hall.
The temperature struggled to get above 0C all day, so outside shots were ....well they were taken in the cold !!!
The picture has quite a busy background. I got some cracking shots with my 50mm lens, but this is one of the "better ones with me in" .
Good practice for the wedding in August, when the temperature for 'outside pics' should be at least 20+ degrees C higher.
Congratulations Kirsty - what a marvellous achievement. I do so agree about trying to study for a further qualification while teaching. It shows a huge commitment.
Fab shot Phil! And it is very tough to do a masters and teach - my sister did a year of hers and decided that that was enough - with half a primary school to run and three kids of her own as well. Well done Kirsty - she looks like you too!
Beautiful graduate and a very distinguished and clearly proud Papa! I also got my master's while teaching and it is definitely a long uphill struggle. I remember trying to stay awake through some of those night classes. Please pass on my heartiest congratulation to your daughter.
