Regular followers and friends, will know this means a trip to Waitrose and a potential photo shoot alongside the banks of the River Trent.
I used to work in Newark on Trent from 1990 to 1996 and this bridge did not exist. It's known as the Jubilee bridge (built in 2002).
I really like bridges, they are very photogenic and are usually great feats of engineering.
This is shot by a bend in the river on quite a long zoom on my Panny TZ7. There was an Ariel from a boat peeking into the frame, but I cloned it out using GIMP. I'm quite pleased about the bit of cloning...it took me about 20 mins to do, while listening to the football on Sky Sports TV / BBC Internet Radio and monitoring the fans message boards (footie fans post to message boards from the grounds using their smart phones and some post while watching dodgy internet feeds) ....we have so much 'information overload' these days...it doesn't seem that long ago when we used to watch football on teletext !!!!! (seriously ...lots of fans used to do that)
Footie just finished, final score, a disappointing 2-2 FA Cup home draw to Sunderland, after being 2-0 up ..... oh for some clean sheets !
No idea what the clean sheets are for but it looks a bright day up there with you....I love modern bridges so clean and simple, this is lovely and a bonus Waitrose!!
its a nice brisge this one Phil. Your tema need a kicj up the backside I reckon! well done on your cloning - i can't see where it is, you've done a great job!
It is a tad smaller Phil, but a handsome bridge no the less (: I know nothing about soccer, but your commentary on media overload rang a bell. Yesterday morning they were talking about this on the radio ... they were talking to a Uni professor and a study he'd done ... going with out mobile phone, tweeting etc ... a couple said they found the library stressful ... no noise, lol
