50 mono portraits at 50mm : No. 24 : Ivan

I started my mono portrait project with a few Arnold and District Camera Club members. It was a gentle way to get used to my project.

Now I'm almost half way through my project, I've got a flurry of Arnold and District Camera Club members to take me past the half way point on onwards towards 30.

This is Ivan, THE eldest statesman of the club. He is a founder member of the club, which was established in 1982. So he's been a member of the club for over 30 years !

He is our competition secretary and arranges and manages all our internal competitions. Ivan comes from an era of film, darkrooms and slides. He's not quite embraced the digital photography world, but was showing a healthy interest in Verity's, Nikon DSLR at our last meeting.

I've upped the dynamic range in GIMP / G'MIC and then added a G'MIC Ilford XP2 monochrome filter.

I usually add a little bit of sharpening when post processing, but forgot to do so on Ivan !
Great portrait

@willowdragon many thanks Al

@judithg f4.0 or f5.6 seem to get good results, the light was poor here judith, so i went a bit wider on the aperture
