Our local Polling Station , Pondhills Lane Community Centre.
We were voting in both the General Election and Local Election. I was hoping to get a couple of portraits as there is usually some prospective local councillors or supporters wearing rosettes, but none were found loitering.
Ruby came to vote with us, but black whippets are not allowed in the polling station. I waited with Ruby while Jane voted and Jane waited while I voted. Ruby gave a knowing glance to a black Labrador who was going through the same waiting process.
Our Ruby walk took us past another polling station, so I looked for another possible portrait, however the only loiterer was wearing a purple rosette so I decided not to bother.
Hi Phil. Thanks for your comments on my pic. Yes - i was lucky to have the two party representatives standing outside. They seemed very interested in me as I was behaving in a slightly furtive way taking my pic from behind a bush trying to find a slightly interesting angle. Perhaps they thought i was tabloid!! I had passed another polling station on my way to this one where people were queuing around the car park. Felt a little diappointed that there was just the lady and her dog when i got to my local one. Like your black and white. Thanks for all your comments on my pics.
I think this is a fab of-the-moment shot! Shame you couldn't get one of Ruby walking in - c'est la vie and all that. We have a postal vote and I admit I didn't even think of lurking with my portrait lens at the polling station.
