The other donkey man by phil_howcroft

The other donkey man

This was going to be image 47 in my 50 mono portraits at 50mm project, but I decided it was too similar to the other "Donkey Man" (image 46), that I posted a few days ago.

So I decided to post it in colour. I am debating what to do next when I complete my 50 mono portraits series. I might do a "50 strangers series" and not limit myself to mono and a 50mm lens. Anyway, I've got another 4 mono portraits to complete, so I am a bit ahead of myself.

Edited in GIMP, auto levels and I dodged the eyes a little as they were quite dark, My dodging isn't perfect, but you might not notice
His eyes are all screwed up with this smile but your dodging might have opened them up a bit! Great colour portrait!

Wonderful detail and colour and maybe this is a 'nudge' for a 50 x 50mm portraits in colour series? I don't know how to dodge so I don't know how good your dodging is! fav

Cool looking chap. It would be a pity if you stopped showing portrait shots, whether in mono or not, Phil. You have shown many different and amazing people in your portraits and this is one of them. Sorry, but I don't like the title of the picture - seems to imply something different. Fav still.

Very nice and the colour distinguishes it from the other donkey man portrait.

That's a lovely shot - didn't notice the dodging! I still can't find my 50mm lens - I need it for the dog show I do every year 😳

This man looks good in red...so glad you didn't do b&w!! Your portraits are always so clear and you manage to get the best smiles! He has a nice crinkle to his eyes that I can see here.
