Launching Behind The Trent End

This was shot on Saturday at the the football match between Nottingham Forest and Bolton Wanderers.

I am stood behind the Trent End at the City Ground. The football stadium backs directly onto the River Trent.

These rowers are oblivious to the crowd of 19,000 that was assembling inside the stadium behind them

The bridge in the background is Lady Bay Bridge, a former railway bridge that now carries a road and a pedestrian walkway on the outside. If you view large you can probably see some footie supporters strolling across the bridge
great shot Phil - I was a rower for a time in high school - like your composition here

Far more interesting that a football match! Beautiful calm water for the rowers!

Well I hope you didn't shout too loud & spoil their practice! Strange mixture rowing & football! I think I prefer the football by a short head!

Love this scene...The bridge is grand and I love it when they convert the railroad bridges into pedestrian bridges. Lovely view of it. The colors, light and reflections are awesome!! Beautiful day!

Beautiful shot and view, Phil. When my son was in Oxford and we visited him, we used to - sometimes - go to walk along the river Thames ( it is called by another name there ) and watch canoeists, punting and much more activities. My son went canoeing there every now and then, too.
