Whippet Ears and Eyes

Ruby makes regular appearances on my photostream.

Today was Mothering Sunday in the UK and Jane, myself and Ruby went to Claire's for Sunday Lunch.

Ruby decided she wanted to have a nosey at what was happening and poked her head over the table.

It was too good an opportunity to miss for a photo, so I caught her at f2,0 with my nifty fifty.

At f2,0 you are not going to get a great depth of field but the image is all about the eyes and ears. It was impossible to get her long nose in focus !!!

I did a mono version that I posted onto Flickr (see link below) but decided I've done quite a few mono's recently so I posted the colour shot

F2 is good seeing the effect here! I can get 2.8 so must try something like this. That adoring look!

Gorgeous shot of a lovely lady! My David whippet has those white owl eyes hair as he ages his face is turning slowly white. Sadly 3 of mine have died since last summer Beautiful Billie went suddenly and first followed in Autumn by her twin Philip and then to our total dismay darling Pearl died in Jan. We are utterly heart broken as you will appreciate. They were muckers together from a few months so maybe the bond was so strong between them that was why they all left us at 12.thrg gave us 12 wonderful years of fun and companionship. You can't expect not to miss them. We got Gracie in Autumn she is fab and Big Jack the greyhound around the same time so we are glad for having them. I am hoping to get a Pearlie relative pup descended directly from her sister in July. That has made me feel a bit better. They are so very precious it is sad they must leave us long before our time is up.

@whippeteer thanks frances. I am sad to hear of your whippet losses , they are great companions and frineds. Ruby is our second whippet. We had another black and white rescue whippet back in 1995, she was with us for years and such a different personality to Ruby
