People on The Streets : Owen and Anime

I was going to use Owen and Anime as part of my 100 strangers series but didn't really get much of a back story other than Owen is a student and he and Anime were just chilling out and having a wander around Notttingham today.

I saw them both in Hockley and had to do a double take when I saw Anime had cat ears , a collar and cat ball, so I had to ask them for a picture.

I asked them to stand in a doorway as I realised the doorway colours matched both outfits.

By use of google I have also learnt that Anime is a cat girl in the world of cosplay / manga, so I suppose that explains the outfit.

Anime didn't say much when I was chatting to the couple, other than nodding and smiling, Owen did most of the talking. I suppose cats don't talk, so maybe that was why.

I did shake hands with them both after I had took the photos and I did notice Anime had gloves on which may have been paws

So although they are not part of my 100 strangers, I have labelled the shot as Street People :)

Oh and the edit was in Darktable and I Included some tone mapping to bring out textures and tones to give the shot a more urban gritty feel.

Fav. You are so good at these portraits, Phil. The two seem to be something from the past with their outfits and with that gate-looing thing behind them. Like I always say, I hate those piercings. I cannot take up a 100 strangers challenge because I don't have the courage to go up to strangers and convince to pose for me.

Beautifully colour-co-ordinated including the background. I'm thinking that after completing 100 I might cut down my text a little with each portrait as it gets so time consuming. I'm glad this is now in your strangers' portraits.
