Running through the Tunnel

We went on a Sunday afternoon walk to our local park, Arnot Hill Park, in Arnold. Known by all the locals as the "Duck Park".

There is an old railway cutting at the back of the park with a tunnel underneath Arnot Hill Road.

I took some pictures of my wife and whippet in and around the tunnel and then I noticed a jogger running towards us.

I waited until the runner was almost silhouetted in the tunnel and then clicked my shutter.

Ideally the lady runner could have been more central, but there is a gap between her and the wall and the bonus was her hair blowing to the side.

That is great official art! You go for Parklife I go for Waterloo Sunset :-) The sunset I'm afraid paled into nothing but I always hum it when I'm there :-) I have actually seen Ray Davies sing it not far from the bridge at the Festival Hall.

This is really exquisite, Phil. Love the art décor around the bridge and to me the jogger is very nicely positioned slightly to the left of the tunnel giving us the possibility of seeing what lies beyond.

Interested to see this wall & the pattern on it. Our new Flower Bowl at Barton Grange Garden Centre has walls with similar flowery patterns on them, I have never seen anything like it until now. Love that long view & the swinging ponytail!

That swinging ponytail makes this for me. I like how it kind of echoes the shapes of the leaves on the right hand side of the mural.
The mural's cool - 70s inspired by the looks of it. The sort of style you see in the colouring books being produced now for adults.
