Another street portrait from last weeks Nottingham Carnival.
This lady was part of a group all dressed in really posh outfits, The type of outfit you would wear to a wedding or maybe a special church service.
I approached her for a photo and she readily accepted, I positioned her in front of one of the carnival costume , as the costume made a great background.
She asked me if I was from a newspaper. I explained I was just an amateur photographer and showed her some photos on the back of my camera. She asked me if I had a card and I gave her one of my cards and she said she would contact me,
I was hoping she would contact me as I would loved her to be one of my 100 strangers portraits . The carnival is really loud with music and drums, so it was difficult to get a 100 strangers story during the carnival procession.
I've not heard form the lady, which is a shame as I am sure she would like the photo as it expresses happiness and captures the carnival spirit.
Her smile and the catchlights in her eyes make the photo.
