Santa and his Helper by phil_howcroft

Santa and his Helper

My second shot from Great Central Railway.

My second shot using my late fathers vintage 135mm f2.8 Nikon Lens

The train is full of excited customers and ready for the off, but they were still waiting for the arrival of a family , who had telephoned to say they were a few minutes late because of traffic.

The light was really poor on Sunday, but for about two minutes there was a gap in the clouds and the sun shone on the side of the train to light up the train and light up my frame :)

And the sun shone on Santa too! Lovely capture Phil:)

Santa's elf could have been a bit more smiley! After all it is exciting always going on a train excursion!

Wow, Santa is so busy this time of year, it is amazing you managed to snap him out and about visiting the steam trains!

Must be the end of a very busy day - they both look tired , and no bag of gifts to distribute to all the good little children !

You captured the light pretty well, Phil. And you got a beautiful shot of Santa and his helper. No Santas for me this Christmas after a good number of years. I am on retirement now. Max was convinced it was me last year so why fake any more.

Your dad’s lens has done a fantastic job Phil! Love the clarity of the people but I like the effect of the train the best....the light shining on those carriages is great!
