This used to be a British Gas showroom selling fires and fireplaces. Probably a place too where you could pay your Gas Bill and have face to face customer relations !
British Gas shut down their high street operations and a third party fire place and fires shop moved in !
Anyway the present incumbents have moved out leaving a shell of a shop.
I think the person walking into the frame is an important part of the shot and helps with the storytelling

Letterbox shape is a good choice here Phil , The sign is rather deceiving as the shop already looks so desolated - nothing even to view in the window - no wonder the lady is hurrying past !
I love that you kept in that bit of wall on the right bottom with the facing haven fallen off. Letterbox definitely the right choice. And the story is there.
