Members of Ruby's Fan Club (vintage Jupiter 11a 135mm f4 lens)

Whenever I walk Ruby, she always seems to attract complimentary remarks and I always stop for a chat.

The young man on the right of the frame, Mark, is one of Ruby's biggest fans , often stopping and chatting to Ruby. He sometimes has doggy treats in his coat. I'm not too sure who the young lady was, but she too made a big fuss of Ruby.

I had a Russian lens on my camera, the fabulous Jupiter 11a 135mm f4 , which I was testing out in the grounds of St. Mary's church.

I showed Mark my lens and asked if I could take a test shot.

The Jupiter 11A is a Russian prime lens built in the KOMZ Kazan Optical Mechanical Factory, 435 miles due East of Moscow, The lens is a copy of a Carl Zeiss "sonnar" design. Some people argue it is as good as the said Carl Zeiss design. The serial number markings on the lens (first tow digits), indicate it is from 1972
How can Ruby not be popular - one of the cutest dogs I have ever seen. A lovely pair you have captured here.

You have that knack with people Phil! V nice shot. Must admit a dog does help to break the ice but I'm still struggling with my 100 Strangers.

A nice informal portrait. I am impressed with your knowledge about the lens, Phil. (I just bought another a6000 body so I can keep my med length very useful zoom on it and hopefully not have the dust problem. I had forgotten I would get a battery and charger with it so that will be useful - traded in my little Sony RX100.)

@casablanca thank you Casa' much appreciated

@quietpurplehaze WOW Haze an extra body, I must admit it is a good idea :) . As for my knowledge of vintage lenses, a lot of it is in the public domain by internet searches. The sad thing is though , when I saw the lens fir the first time I could read the Russian for "Jupiter" , I also knew that the little symbol on the lens indicated which factory the lens was built in !!! Rather sad and geeky !!!

@fbailey Felicity , 100 strangers is something you do at your own pace, your rules, you do it when you feel the situation is right :)

@bkbinthecity thank you do much for your words :)

@sangwann cheers dione, glad you like this :)
