Leicester Caribbean Carnival Smile 2 by phil_howcroft

Leicester Caribbean Carnival Smile 2

It was Leicester Caribbean Carnival 2019 today.

It is a great street event to photograph. Lots of smiles, a great atmosphere, and a real feel good factor to the day.

There is a parade that goes right through the heart of the city centre. The streets are alive.

Shot with my Canon 60D and 50mm F1.8

I hope you like the smiles of this photo. If you look closely you can see a reflection of the photographer in the glasses :)

Love them both, Phil. The sheer exuberance and vitality are a joy to behold!

@allie912 thanks allison , the carnival is such that at certain locations you can walk and mingle in the street with the people of the carnival and get some up close and personal photos :)

Wonderful b&w portrait capture. I would have expected this to be part of your 100 Strangers challenge. One thing I note is that her face looks darker than her body skin - maybe it could be because of your pov. But this is an excellent shot. Fav.

Hi everybody , I met this young lady today at the Nottingham Carnival , just before it was about to start/ She is a member of the Luton troupe and had travelled to Nottingham for the carnival , All the troupe wore hats. Luton was famous for hats and they were paying homage to the fact that lots of the migrant workers from the Windrush generation worked in the industry. The local football club's nickname is The Hatters I showed her a colour pic of this photo on my mobile phone and she loved it :) . I gave her my contact card and she said she would email me so I could send the pic to her, She had nowhere to put the card , so she slid it into her bra !!!! I will post the Nottingham picture of her on my photostream once I have processed the image :)
