Manchester Deansgate Towers by phil_howcroft

Manchester Deansgate Towers

I went on a day trip to Manchester on Thursday.

It's over 40 years since I was a student in the city and I haven't really been back to the city since I was that fresh faced student !

The city has changed dramatically in that time including the introduction of several skyscrapers

These are a set of skyscrapers in the Deansgate area of the city. They look very impressive and some are still under construction.

It is pretty impossible not to get converging verticals when photographing the towers.

I thought a black and white photo would be a nice way to present the image. i do like how the light reflects off the glass of the building

Edited in Darktable and GIMP

There is always a vanishing point! Manchester is such a huge city and also vibrant as well as having a bit of a criminal element!

Nicely balanced lighting! You've captured the 'towering' high rises so well!

Stunning pov in this fabulous shot. You make ugly (I don't like modern high-rise buildings) look amazing. Fav.

Looking very impressive Phil.....can’t believe it’s so long since you went into the centre of Manchester but I suppose when you come up north it’s just for the football.
