We had a knock on the door about 6.30 in the evening. We went to open the door to see a bunch of flowers and a little parcel on the step. My Daughter Claire and her husband Matt were stood at the bottom of the drive by their car.
"Something for you during Lockdown" they said.
"Open the parcel together"
So we opened the parcel
The contents are shown in the picture ...
- A little note saying "You are going to be grandparents"
- A picture of Claire's 12 week scan showing their baby.
A little hat and boots with a note saying "Please keep me safe , it will be chilly in November and I may need them"
Being in lockdown, we could not give them a hug, we could not invite them in , it was a conversation at the end of our drive !
Matt was not allowed to go to the 12 week Scan because of lockdown.
It was a surreal and emotional moment, Claire and Matt told us in a lovely way. It is great news in these troubled times.
The baby was conceived before the global pandemic !
Matt and Claire asked us to think about what we want to be called ....
Jane is going to be Nana
I am going to be Papa
You will be seeing quite a few baby portraits from November onwards :)
My boys have a Nana too. What lovely news. My sister is due early October. They live in Brum, so not far in normal times yet I am yet to see her pregnant,

We are going to be great grandparents in November too, we heard this week!
Hopefully all will be much better by November & you can be proper hands on grandparents.
