Allium Head (Vintage Helios 44M-4 58mm lens)

A few weeks ago this Allium Head was flowering vibrant purple and looked stunning in our garden.

Today it is dead and dried out, but I think it still retains it's beauty

Shot with a vintage Helios 44M-4 58mm f2 lens on a Sony A7 full frame camera. The lens is renowned for it's sharpness.

I agree, they have great value as a garden plant

Ah ha! I love Allium heads - there are some in the background of the Jade plant photo of mine you just commented on. :) Great shot I like the details in the stem coloring.

I love them just as much in seed as in flower. Beautiful things. Like a dandelion clock made thicker and frozen in time. Lovely image, Phil. I particularly like the angle across the page.
