I got a new lens today for my Sony A7. Not a vintage lens but a modern lens. I decided I needed a versatile walk around lens for when I am not shooting with vintage lenses.
A Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras.
It is the first time my A7 will be focussing by wires rather than manually.
I intended to take it our this afternoon but it rained all afternoon in Nottingham.
I did a few test shots indoors. This is a little Reindeer decoration that came to our house from Matalan a few weeks ago. The bauble came from our daughter Claire.
The reindeer lives on the fireplace, but he jumped onto the sofa arm to be photographed against the bokeh lights of our Christmas Tree.
He is a black reindeer, so I thought he might look nice in a mono shot.
I think it turned out OK.
I look forward to using the lens outdoors. It gets rave reviews on the internet !
I had to do a double take between your name and this pic. This is really good - a bit out of your realm and that's what threw me! Love it - FAV. Gotta pin!
@jackies365 the "good photographer" is very kind of you to say jackie !! The f2.8 through the whole zoom range was what appealed to me. This is f2.8 :)
Good on you fir treating yourself Phil...if anyone made use of lenses itโs you! Working beautifully here...will watch what you capture with your new lens!
@pdulis thank you peter
I so appreciate that you always come comment on my photos even though I am so terrible at doing the same back... thank you
