100 Strangers : Round 3 : No. 280 : Despine

My stranger photos are out of order.

This is Despine who I met on the streets of Nottingham a couple of weeks ago.

Despine and a friend had an information stall in the middle of downtown Hockley.

Despine is part of the Nottingham RCG (Nottingham Revolutionary Communists Group), who work together to build an anti-imperialist trend in Nottingham.

Despine asked me if I wanted to sign a petition against the exploitation of 3rd world countries by the West. Nobody wants to see 3rd world countries exploited, the narrative of the petition was quite complex and idealistic.

I told Despine I was aware of the Nottingham RCG as I had seen members of the group on various protests around the city.

I asked Despine what he did for work when he wasn’t out of the streets raising awareness of anti- imperialism. Despine told me he did a lot of work on the club scene.

My request for a photo was met with a “Yes”.

“With or without mask?” I asked

I shot a few images wide open and I think I have created quite a striking image of Despine
Very striking image you captured and diplomatic as always!

Always against racism. Very nice shot and impressive message. Despine is very young, I guess from his looks.

It is a striking photo. Your photos really do tell a story of a city too. Know I said something similar last time I commented!

Hi Phil, I saw Caterina mention you in a photo comment this morning. Then I saw your comment at Andy C’s cat. We started our project around the same time and never crossed paths. Also funny, you’re project is about people and mine about everything else. Haha. I suppose I can learn a lot from you, so I pressed follow.
