I've been scanning my film negatives (a very slow process). When I say scanning , I've been photographing them on a light pad
This is the Blue Caves in Zakynthos, Greece. We took a boat trip into them when we visited the island in September 1985.
I suppose this is a bit of "street photography" as the people in the shot are all strangers.
The man in the shorts is the "boatman / Skipper", the couple look like they could be locals, I would say definitely Greeks, rather than North Europeans.
The young woman, who looks in her mid 20's is probably in her 60's now.
Shot with my Olympus OM20, 50mm f1.8 zuiko lens. The details are quite outstanding.
Phil! This is a wonderful reminder of a happy time. When
visiting the blue caves in Zakinthos we had so much fun that even the words used during that trip (funny, invented on the spot) have become part of our lexicon. I still have a picture of that day on the library’s shelf. I’m going to post it in the album addictions. From 1990 and, of course, made on film and re-photographed. Thank you for bringing back those years when we were young! Your observation that the 20-year-old girl must be 60 now is so moving. Fav
This is full of character and interest. I have never been to Greece, though I did honeymoon in Crete aeons ago. Must go and explore more of this area sometime.
