I was in Nottingham this afternoon and was walking near St. Mary’s church in the Lace Market.
There is a really nice street / path at the side of the church, all railings and period buildings. I always have a glance down the path. As I glanced down I saw a lady walking a cat on a lead. I just had to ask them both for a photo.
Meet Nicole and Yeti. Yeti is a house cat. He’s a Rag Doll cat ( I didn’t know if Yeti was a girl or boy, so it was one of the questions I asked Nicole, his human). I thought he was a siamese cat, but Nicole told me he was a rag doll and being a house cat he goes for regular walks with Nicole.
Nicole walked him into the church grounds and I suggested that would be a great location to take their photo. Yeti has his own instagram account.
It was a dull and grey day, very dark, with little daylight, but my Sony A600 and nifty fifty lens did a decent job.
That was it, Nicole was very patient as I faffed around with my settings. I usually set my camera to an ISO and aperture that is good for the conditions before I go on a shoot, but I didn’t do this so had to faff around a bit.
That was it photoshoot over, I thanked Nicole and Yeti for the shoot and walked down the photogenic path (this can be seen in the photo behind Nicole). I shouted “See You Nicole , Thanks again” as I walked down the path, but Nicole had her headphone music on and didn’t hear me. So I waved frantically and she saw me and waved back and I said “thanks again have a good afternoon”
I would have loved to take our cat on walks but when i put the lead and harness on, she just fell on the floor and wouldn't walk. I called it a drag walk. Great and natural clarity!
@cdonohoue I did a google Cathy , rag dolls like to be housebound and therefore being on leads to go outside is sensible and I assume Nicole lives in the city centre, which isn't exactly friendly for a cat to stroll around on its own
@maggiemae thanks Maggie , that's a great comment , Yeti walked nicely on his lead
What an odd couple!! seeing the "posh" cat, one expected to see a a well dressed "lady" instead of a happy and ordinary dressed young lady out for a walk!
@maggiemae thanks Maggie , that's a great comment , Yeti walked nicely on his lead
@maggiemae my cat did the same thing. :-D
