My 4th stranger photo from last weeks photowalk with my whippet Elsie in Nottingham City Centre.
I was in the big open space of Sneinton /market and noticed two young ladies sat together eating some lunch. I saw they both had some fabulous tattoos, so I approached them and introduced myself.
“I’m an amateur photographer and I do street photography, taking photos of people I meet on the streets. I think you have some fabulous tattoos. Is it OK if I photograph you?”
“Do you want me in the photo?” asked Liv, left of the frame, whose tattoos were not quite as prominent as Mia’s
“Yes of course, you both have amazing tattoos”
“Don’t photography me eating my lunch, let me put it down” said Mia.
I rattled off a few images, maybe half a dozen.
“How many are you taking?” asked Mia.
“I take a few in case either of you blink on them. I’ve finished now”
I asked if they worked in Sneinton Avenues
Liv does and Mia had just met up with her while she was on her break.
That’s it, I didn’t push for back stories as Liv and Mia were eating and drinking and it didn’t seem right to interrupt them further.
I asked if it was OK to post the photos online and thanked them both for allowing me to photograph them.
Although I didn't get a full back story, I am sure you will agree, I got a great photo for my project.
@casablanca Casa', they make a great photo , not everyone likes them , I don't have any , but I do look out for striking tattoos when I am on the streets :)
@sakkasie thanks April , don't be jealous , I'm just a normal guy who talks to people on the street and asks them for a photo , you can do it too , once you've done a few it becomes easier , although still exciting :)
Hi Everyone, I met one of my strangers today , Isabelle, she was stranger 312 back in April 2022, you may remember her she worked as piercer in a tattoo parlour , she had amazing piercings all over her face. I always stop for a chat when I pass her studio. Anyway she was excited to tell me she'd seen one of her friends on my strangers list. She'd seen Mia, and thought she looked beautiful and stunning . She contacted Mia and sent her the link and Mia loved the photo . She said Mia had just had a baby and the photo was a real confidence booster to her . That's a nice extension to the story
