Continuing my ongoing project, another shot of my back garden, one month on from the last one.
We’ve had a bit of rain since the last photograph back in April, not much, though; the lawn still needs some serious work; where I’ve patched there is new grass shoots, but not enough to remedy last Summer’s damage. I pay a company to dress the lawn quarterly, having seen their operative ‘run’ around the garden the last time they came, I don’t think I’ll be using their service much longer
Not a lot of colour at the moment; the tulips and daffs have gone; last Summer saw the demise of all of my ‘car park plants’ (Valerian) and Lupins. I’ve put 10 new Lupins in the border today, I’m hoping to get some new Valerian from a work colleague in the next week or so (that’s where the originals came from). There is sign of last year’s Dahlias poking through the soil, not as many as I thought. They took a hammering last Summer in the heat, so it wouldn’t surprise me if I’ve lost some of them (I have 10 new ones in the greenhouse which hopefully will come to rescue.
Thank you for your continued interest in my garden/yard. All of the previous photographs are tagged philsgarden and if you wish to see it change through the months (obviously only if you feel that way inclined and have nothing better to do) then click on that tag.
Interesting diary of events in the garden Phil , At least the grass is green in spite of being rather sparse in places - the result of last summer's drought ! I cancelled the company that dressed my lawns about three years ago ! after similar treatment of a "run " round the lawn and a huge spillage of treatment on the corner of my front lawn which resulted in burning the grass - they did come out and re seed ( with very rough grass in a fine lawn !! which I have been battling with ever since !! That was the last straw and gave me an instant excuse to "sack" them !! However , I am rather dubious whether I have been too heavy handed with my weed/feed/and moss killer last week - - have got rather black patches !! Fingers crossed it will turn out OK!
