The air display today at East Kirkby should have included a Flying Fortress, but sadly on inspection it has an issue with a wing strut so was grounded; at short notice, the organisers managed to get a P47 Thunderbolt to replace it from RAF Duxford. Powered by the Pratt and Whitney R-2800 double wasp engine, although impressive to see in the air in 2023, it just doesn't have THAT sound ........
