Old John by phil_sandford

Old John

Exited the M1 car park this evening on my way home from Cheltenham and cut across country avoiding the carnage around Leicester. Passed the restaurant where I took Carole for our engagement dinner (and they didn't take credit cards in 1982 so Carole had to pay) and found myself almost alongside the car park that gives access to this 'building' in Bradgate Park.

Not wanting to upload another 'filler' I pulled over and took a short walk.

Old John is the name of the highest hill in the park, and this 'folly' has over the years taken the name

Nice evening lighting - got tickled about your dilemma with dinner - one you don't forget! Like John's comparison- I can see that beer stein!

Thanks for all your pictures and commentaries, both equally delightful and informative. Your pictures make me jealous of all the wonderful antiquities you have to photograph. And this one even seems to be bathed in sunlight.
