Only Thing Left Standing

Another for the ‘Flash of Red’ February challenge.

This week sees the flashofred2018 challenge move to 'compositional elements' of photography. My reading on this subject is from this site; very educational.

Today rule #2 - Centred composition and symmetry. This is the old gates of an old hall, long since vanished, just behind the current Riseholme College of Agriculture not far from where we live, off, funnily enough, Hall Lane. Not a clue what the hall looked like, I can find no reference to it anywhere, but judging from the gateway, it must have been pretty impressive.

Impressive gateway. Is there a fence around the area? It looks more impressive in black.

Very impressive on black. Would be fun to know more about it.

On Google it says that Riseholme Hall is now the College of Agriculture.
Nice gates Phil.

Excellent. One can only wonder what the hall must have looked like if these were the gates. Very nicely composed, like the processing too 👍
