@olivetreeann's Flash of Red February moves into a week of 'texture & pattern' from today; this is the unmistakeable texture of the Silver Birch tree bark; they are abundant in Lincolnshire and where I lived as a boy, Norfolk. I'm really not good at recognising trees (Oak, Horse Chestnut (when conkers are on them) and the Weeping Willow aside) but the Silver Birch is instantly recogniseable to me as we had one in the front garden of my parent's house, and I seem to remember 3 or 4 in the back garden (the one in the front garden was reduced to a stump one year by my Mother (well, she paid a man to do it))
Thanks for your views and comments on yesterday's offering.
Well done!
