I should be in Leicester watching my rugby club right now but I have decided to use my common sense (sadly not that common this last 20 months) and take the advice of the United Kingdom’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty, and prioritise what is important to me and that is seeing my family over Christmas. The pandemic is far from over, evidenced by the tidal wave of positive Covid cases occurring daily at the moment with the new variant, Omicron, driving the fifth wave of the virus through Europe. I shall watch on TV.
What a fabulous bird. Wise move to stay home. Omicron has taken hold here in the last couple of weeks and cases are doubling daily. I think it will be a quiet Christmas for us. I am isolating at the moment because I was exposed to a Covid positive case.
