Cogglesford Mill by phil_sandford

Cogglesford Mill

On holiday for a few days. After dropping two grandkids at school and another at ‘work experience’ I pushed off to Sleaford to spend some time at Cogglesford Mill on the river Slea.

I saw the Kingfisher around ten times; by that I mean I saw the flash of blue & orange as it shot down the river. I didn’t see it alight anywhere. I spent three and a half hours, in temperatures of plus 32°c and the best shot I got was this.

Thanks for dropping by.

@haskar Not a holiday location, just a stretch of river in a nearby town. We’re doing day trips, I’m only taking a few days break.

Well it looks a lovely cool oasis so deceiving if it’s so hot! A beautiful place for a picnic.

I love the leading line of the water to the bridge. I think it’s a beautiful capture, but I can understand your disappointment in not being able to capture the king fisher.

Hubby and I still have a lifelong ambition to see and photograph a kingfisher. Only ever saw a flash of colour in the corner of the eye! This looks a tranquil spot
