Will I go up the pier? With gale force winds, an approaching storm front and a roiling bay I wasn’t too keen to venture out too far. However, I did get as far as the gentleman who was keenly fishing in the midst of all this who you can just see in this photo. We exchanged a few pleasantries - but I certainly wasn’t prepared to walk to the end. We did think there were perhaps a couple of people there, however, I can just visualise myself getting smacked by some rouge wave (also wary of lightning on a day like this out in the open). The end of the pier actually broke off the other month in a weather event similar to today and floated away - ended up on one of the bayside beaches! Another good reason to not venture too far from the safety of the beach!
