Very cold day

Can’t remember the last time we had hail, but it was a nice distraction from thinking about the impacts of this terrible virus.
We’ve even had snow falling in various parts of the State today in places where it occurs quite infrequently.

Our wonderful city is currently in 6 weeks of lockdown - even more severe than what we have been experiencing. For the first time ever in my lifetime we are under curfew - no leaving one’s home between 8:00 pm to 5:00 am (a small number of exemptions apply). I’m all for it, if it saves even just one member of our community. But this brings little comfort to those people whose businesses will be severely impacted by this and forced to close. Sadly, some businesses may not survive. No easy solutions in this crisis.
I feel so saddened for the impact this pandemic is having on our elderly, for the people who are ending up in ICU and for those families who have lost loved ones to this insidious disease.
Amid this uncertainty, however, I’m just so proud of our healthcare workers - stepping up to the frontline when asked - demonstrating dedication, care and compassion where it’s needed most. Heroes - all of them.
