This is what happens when they construct a motorway and block off a canal. A flight of locks , the gates is now non existent. But it is now a wildlife haven. The only thing you need is a pair of ear defenders as the motorway runs right beside the towpath path
Tewitfield...I recognise this place of course by the photo & the story. A sort of full stop in the canal....we once went for a meal in the pub there but now only pass it on our way to the Westmoreland Show.
