... or so it goes. My eldest son (back row, right) gathered in our garden for a sunny afternoon of fun with old friends. It's almost ten years since they left school, and they're somewhat dispersed, but still as close as ever when they get a chance to be together

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments. I have hardly dared take shots on big occasions in the past so this was out of my comfort zone. Fortunately my son's friend S, far left in the shades, is the joker, and he took it upon himself to make everyone laugh. The fact that I was standing in a flowerbed and kept banging my head on a tree branch helped (no zoom - this was shot with my 60mm macro in non-macro mode which turns out to be rather lovely for portraits). The light was special too - very bright day but they were in natural shade
