laughing, crying or singing? by pistache

laughing, crying or singing?

you may well ask. i was behind the camera for the 'emotion' theme for this week's selfie, and was trying to emulate a bit of carrie mae weems's slow fade to black images, which rather appealed to me: http://carriemaeweems.net/galleries/slow-fade.html. i liked the blur, and the intense emotions she captures

Singing?

This is disturbing and surreal in such a good way. So artistically rendered!

@francoise @francoise there's an explanation in one of the youtubes on her channel i linked you to... something about all the wonderful black singers who are no longer played on the jazz stations, she laments.

You got the intensity here. Because of the look in your eyes, I interpret as a scream - so fear or shock might be the emotion I read. Great emulation for the artist

@gamelee @wenadee @kali66 @francoise @haskar @sunshinepix @kjarn @louisanoffke @taffy @helenhall

thanks kali for giving an explanation ... and haha that you all thought i was screaming when i was supposed to be singing ... i've always been a terrible actress, and this weakness clearly continues :)

@pistache i think the best singers are those who screamed a lot as babies!
