had a little session in the studio on a rainy sunday afternoon with mr g pressing the shutter as i faffed about in a variety of poses against my white wall, standing on some white card balanced on a wobbly stool - finally remembering that it's sooooo much easier to cut myself out of an image if i'm black and pink and the background is white :) then i dug out this image from a street in toulouse in the summer, which i'd had in mind to fiddle with - that sign was too good not to use
update september 2020 ...
decided that, after five-and-a-half years on this fabulous site, I should say a little more about myself than the two sentences...
It is such a great sign. And I do like how you put yourself on a mission up there. I'm enjoying picturing you on that wobbly stool in your unusual photo session. Think of it as an investment!
Oh, the things our spouses do for us to advance our photography! I like how you brought this all together. I'm wondering, though, if you moved yourself slightly to the left, closer to the lamp, you might be even more visible with more of you against the light sky? Just a thought.
What a fabulous composite, it has a bit of a Harry Potter feel to it for me with the sky , clock and brickwork. Well done to Mr G for taking the photos of you too. fav
@jyokota thanks junko. it's a good point - originally i positioned myself there but i wanted my toes to be touching the top of the sign and i didn't want to make myself too big. but i'll go back and see if i can move myself a little as you suggest! @jackies365 well jackie thank you - that has made my day - as i have started a compositing course with brooke and i just love her work :)
@pistache -- ah, yes, I now see what you mean about your toes touching the sign. And that anchors you well. I'm still thinking that I would like to see you more obviously and right now, you blend in beautifully, from colors to the way your hair and the windy-thing on the clock is rounded. This is such a clever idea that you could do a whole series, perhaps one with you reclining on the angle of the lamp and with leg stretched out and one dangling below, another with more of your face showing, oh, the possibilities are endless for how you could just keep hanging out there! Fun.
I am completely enjoying the idea of a devoted husband, helping his wife of many years faff about by taking pictures of her in various poses for her photography project. Really delightful. :)
@jackies365 well jackie thank you - that has made my day - as i have started a compositing course with brooke and i just love her work :)
@rosiekerr ah thank you rosie! i am lucky :)
