while i'm supposed to be sorting my photography training tutorials and resources a la matt kloskowski fresh start 2020, i'm getting sidetracked finding all kinds of deliciousness that i want to play with. he has some quite appealing edge effects so i was having a go with them here. i nicked the barn from distressed fx on the iPad, but otherwise my images. the bird was strutting around the botanical gardens in melbourne - anyone know what it is?
update september 2020 ...
decided that, after five-and-a-half years on this fabulous site, I should say a little more about myself than the two sentences...
I am worried about that poor girl - she must be quite traumatised with a bird that size landing on her barn. You do have some humorous juxtapositions in your composite images - always enjoyable and carefully crafted. I like the new edges - especially as along the bottom of this. As for the bird - I have no idea but what beautiful plumage it has.
Really super on black. I like the way the bird seems to be causing the barn to sag in the centre. Great choice of elements to make the composition.No idea about the bird.
A great composite, of course, because it’s your composite! The bird reminds me of “The Reverend Robert Walker” skating in that Scottish oil painting. 😊
Fab composite - I wish I had those skills. The looks a lot like the NZ pukeko (swamp hen). I think there are some similar related birds in Australia. That fresh start course sounds good - is it too late to join a fresh start?
Fun composite- yes, the bird has overwhelmed that poor little girl! I say, continue to be distracted. The results are delightful. Sorry I can't help you with the bird ID though.
@jgpittenger no i got the barn from distressed fx, and the other images are mine :)
@helenhall @gardencat @louannwarren @koalagardens @ludwigsdiana thank you so much for your lovely comments :)
