the birds by pistache

the birds

this week's composite challenge on instagram was 'grotesque'. i had a go :) close to the end i managed to delete the whole image eeeeek and it turns out that at that point command z is no longer your friend :(

but i started again from scratch and actually preferred how this turned out. mr g as model again, a friend in northamptonshire's calf's face, a room in a plantation house in south carolina, and some birds flying over the serpentine in london ... naturally ...
I love this! So frustrating about photoshop tho... I’ve learned the hard way to save many times along the way...

ps - where do you find prompts on Instagram?

What a frustrating experience. Well done for persevering and starting again - that is so difficult to do. And you came up with a pretty grotesque scene with the birds. Fabulous composite - full of atmosphere.

I lost a whole chapter of the book I'm writing in a similar fashion last week- boy did I want to throw the laptop through the window. I took a walk instead! This is amazing- creepy!- but amazing! Like Northy, I save quite frequently on my photos but I hadn't been doing it as much with my writing. That's changed now. Fantastic processing and outcome!

I've never tried to do a composite. Very interesting and creative.

Clare, I'm always in awe of your composite work (I wouldn't know where to start) but you've excelled yourself with this one.

@northy thank you so much - i'm very flattered ;) the weekly prompts i'm doing at the moment are by brooke shaden and she puts the theme in her stories. the hashtag is #promotingpassionchallenge

@pistache tx... weirdly, I have no clue how to access stories in IG!
February 17th, 2020
@northy umm the stories of anyone you follow appear along the top of your feed in circles - you then just click on them, and they can be viewed for 24 hours or so. she also has the themes on her website - this week is masks, which might be right up your street ;)
