This non-descript document was found in one of the Wrest Park buildings when English Heritage took over the estate in 2006. Dated 22 years ago, whoever prepared it simply typed it out on paper using a conventional typewriter. It goes on at some length about what to do in the event of a bomb alert. Attention grabbing it is not.
The first Gulf War, "Desert Storm" finished at the end of February 1991, and this notice was one of many posted in workplaces after warnings that terrorist attacks on Britain were likely that summer
This looks so old fashioned & yet 1991 so not that long ago...seems five minutes to me. Interesting instructions...wonder if they have changed any today!
Oh yes - I visited Porton Down a few times in the mid to late 90's and they had flags outside the offices which told them what level of alert they were on.
